In the Begining...

I haven’t had a diary or journal or whatever since Junior High. I’m not sure if I intend to be that honest on here either. Not that I will lie. But do I really want to open my heart to the void of the internet?? I have nightmares that someday I will find that old journal and see what an annoying 8th-9th grader I really was. People say that the blog is today’s diary. But, back in my day, (I can’t believe I just said that, as if I were in my 80’s and reminiscing or something). It used to be that diaries were locked away, hidden under mattresses and defended from spying brother’s and anyone else who tried to peak. So if the blog is REALLY the diary of today, then why is it so prominent? If we were really honest with ourselves, the blog is the diary of what we want others to read. Not what we are trying to keep to ourselves.

OK. Now that I have that not so profound opinion off of my chest, lets get down to the nitty gritty. Why am I really writing this? Honestly, I’m not sure. Because I need a creative outlet and a way to share the fun stories and things my kids do? Because some days it’s nice to share your grumblings and know that you aren’t alone? I have some awesome kids that do some funny and sometimes not so awesome things and when I’ve shared my battle stories (and sometimes scars), I have heard over and over that I should write a book about it. So, I think that was the little push that started this. So, hang on to your ponytails (or for some of you less hair endowed gents, your belt buckles?), here I am learning to blog. So bare with me, and keep your negative comments to yourselves for a while. NO Diary should be able to criticize!
